TRAVEL ALERT - MT AGUNG VOLCANO

The events in Bali concerning Mt Agung may effect a number of our customers.  We appreciate there are many of our customers who have concerns around how your cover will respond.  

The following warnings have been issued by Indonesia's National Disaster Management Authority in relation to the Mt Agung volcano.

16th September 2017 - Indonesia raised the alert for the Mt Agung Volcano on the tourist Island of Bali following an increase in Volcanic Activity.  The National Disaster Management Authority raised the alert level from normal to vigilence.

22nd September 2017 - The National Disaster Management Authority for Indonesia raised the volcanic alert level for the Mt Agung volcano to Level 4, the highest level, indicating that an eruption is imminent.

Our NoWorries Travel Cover policy does not cover claims or losses which are caused by events that you were aware of at the time of purchasing the policy.  If you entered into a policy after the 16th September 2017 we would expect that you would have been aware of the events surrounding the Mt Agung Volcano activity.  Any claims or losses arising from this event would not be covered under the policy to the extent permitted by law.

If you have a policy that was issued on or before 16th September 2017:

There may be certain cover for Travel Delay, Abandonment and / or cancellation expenses due to a natural disaster relating to the Mt Agung volcanic activity. There are limits, conditions and exclusions that apply under your policy and these were provided to you in our Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) at the time of purchase.  You should ensure you have read and understand the PDS.

If you have a policy that was issued after 16th September 2017:

There will be no cover for claims arising from any related volcanic activity, including volcanic ash cloud events as it is no longer considered unforeseen.
